Luminaria Celebration of Lights at the Gardiner Common

Maine General Hospice Volunteers of Kennebec Valley will be hosting the Celebration of Light again this year.

"Imagine hundreds of luminaria bathing the Common in Gardiner with their warm light — not a solemn remembrance, but a celebration of life.

On December 9th at twilight, luminaria will be lit by our volunteers in a beautiful display. At 5 p.m. we will walk through the glowing luminaria on the Common and end with a brief program to celebrate those who have brought light into our lives.  Luminaria will remain lit until 7 p.m. Christ Episcopal Church will be open for anyone who would like to come inside to warm up during the event."

If a snow event occurs on December 9, the Celebration of Li.ghts will change to Sunday, December 10, 2023 at 5 p.m.
